GE PRESENTS: CENTENNIAL OF FLIGHT AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER

If your travels will be taking you to New York City this summer, plan to stop by GE Presents: Centennial of Flight at Rockefeller Center. From July 29-Aug. 18, celebrate the spirit of human exploration and America's history of aviation and innovation in air and space travel over the past 100 years. The three-week long, state-of-the-art aviation showcase, sponsored by GE, will be located in front of 30 Rockefeller Center and extend from 48th Street to 51st Street.

This world-class exhibition will feature hundreds of museum quality objects including a life-size replica of the Wright Flyer, WWII planes, the 75-foot Mercury Redstone Rocket, a replica of the Apollo XIII capsule, U.S. Air Force jets and interactive flight simulators. The GE exhibit will feature a history of our jet engines, including the new GE-90, as well as a look at what's coming for the future of air travel.

Saturday, Aug. 9, is "Kids Day" at Rockefeller Center. This special day will feature astronaut appearances, a book signing of My Brothers' Flying Machine, mural painting, science projects and shows, a workshop on "World's Longest Duration Paper Flying Airplanes" and a performance by the U.S.A.F. Academy Falcon Team on the Plaza.

GE is proud to sponsor a celebration of the spirit of human exploration and America's history of aviation and innovation in air and space travel over the past 100 years. Partnering with Tishman Speyer Properties, co-owners of Rockefeller Center, and the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission, the U.S. Air Force, NASA, and the U.S. Navy, a state-of-the-art aviation showcase is being developed at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
